Celebrate International Women's Day with Local Women Owned Businesses

March 2, 2020

Tiny Pies is proud to be a 100% woman owned business and proud to have founded our business in Austin, Texas. This March 8th, we’re celebrating International Women’s Day by shining a spotlight on some of my favorite women owned businesses in Austin. As a woman entrepreneur, I’m familiar with the specific challenges of running a women-owned business and it’s time that we all work together to equalize the playing field for women in the workplace.

International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

According to an April 2019 statistic, 32.7 percent of startups in Austin are owned by women. That percentage ranks Austin at No. 2 in the U.S., behind only St. Louis. In total, Austin has 1,433 women-owned startups which employ 6,716 people.  (source Culturemap).

I feel blessed to know these other women entrepreneurs and I try to support their businesses whenever I can. Here are some great women-owned small businesses in Austin.
