International Peace Day

September 19, 2019

SEPTEMBER 21ST IS DECLARED AS THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE. CREATED BY THE UNITED NATIONS IN 1981, IT’S A DAY TO OBSERVE HUMANITY AS A WHOLE AND PUT FORTH KINDNESS. OFFICIALLY, IT’S A DAY THAT ‘PROVIDES A GLOBALLY SHARED DATE FOR ALL HUMANITY TO COMMIT TO PEACE ABOVE ALL DIFFERENCES.’

I try to focus on peace daily in my personal life and start my day every day with an intention to lead my life through love. For me, setting my intentions every morning is a useful tool to keep me on track with creating the life that I want. No matter where you come from; your socioeconomic class, the color of your skin, your sexual orientation, etc. we are all HUMAN. At the end of the day we are more alike than we are different. I wholeheartedly believe that if we all took a few minutes everyday focusing on our similarities instead of our differences we would live in a more peaceful world. And, if you can start being aware of how you feel internally and when you get agitated and let the energy pass through you instead of identifying with it, it will allow you to respond to situations from a conscious place instead of reacting from an unconscious place. If everyone would respond instead of react I believe our world would be a more peaceful place.

In honor or International Day of Peace we’ll be attending Peace Day Austin at Austin City Hall and will be giving away 50 Tiny Pies to the first 50 attendees. Check out the Facebook event details here . Also, stop by our stores on Sat, Sept 21st to pick up your favorite Tiny Pies and we’ll top them with peace symbols in honor of International Day of Peace.
